How to Structure a Lead-Generating Carousel (The Proven AIDA Method)
Published May 29, 2026 by David
There are two ways to post on social media: for likes or for leads. If your goal is business (qualified leads, not vanity metrics), your carousel can’t be a random sequence of slides. It must function as a mini sales funnel.
For this, the AIDA method remains the most effective tool for over a century. Here’s how to apply it slide by slide.
Slide 1: The Stop-Scroll (Attention) Your first slide is your storefront. If people keep scrolling, they never enter the shop. No need to educate—just halt their scroll dead in its tracks.
- The technique: A hook that stings. A disruptive question, a shocking stat, or a pain point your audience faces daily.
- B2B Example: "Why 80% of your emails land in spam (and how to fix it)."
Slides 2 to 4: Stir the Problem (Interest) You have three seconds to prove you’re not an imposter. Build interest by twisting the knife in the wound.
- The technique: Show you understand their situation better than anyone. Drop facts, common mistakes, or a story they’ll recognize.
- Result: With every slide, they should think: "Damn, they’re talking about me."
Slides 5 to 8: Deliver the Solution (Desire) Here, you present your solution and widen the gap between their current struggle and their desired future.
- The technique: Skip the feature list—focus on benefits. Share a method that solves the problem. Give actionable advice.
- Result: They know you hold the key. They’re eager to learn more or work with you.
Final Slide: The Knockout (Action) The classic mistake? Doing all this work only to end with "What do you think?" If you want leads, be direct.
- The technique: A clear, single Call-to-Action with no ambiguity. Tell them exactly what to do.
- Examples of high-converting CTAs:
- "DM me ‘AUDIT’ for a free site analysis."
- "Click the link in my bio to grab this complete guide."
- "Book your free strategy call via the link in the first comment."
Save Time (Without Wasting It on Design) Structuring a carousel with AIDA is tedious. If you also spend two hours struggling with design software, you’ll quit.
